Basketball Products International (BPI) wanted to expand their catalog online with an e-commerce website. The vision was for a simple and clean e-commerce experience with added emphasis on related products and product information.

The Solution

Working with BPI, Eyepinch came up with a custom design that provided a professional and polished e-commerce layout. Special attention was given to product images and specification documents. Also, the existing marketing and ordering methods were represented through a downloadable online copy of the catalog and order form.

After analyzing the products in the catalog, Eyepinch developed a custom administration system that met all the product requirements from SKUs to colors, images to sizes, shipping to price matrixes and more. BPI  was able to easily upload product specification documents, add and crop pictures, and manage and sort categories. They could also map related categories and manage manufacturers as well.

Because the products ranged in size from the small pump needle to the very large portable backstop, special attention was given to shipping. Products that required installation advice and a human-touch to the delivery logistics were represented on the site, but were not available for online order. However, a custom quote form was provided to allow customers to easily inquire about purchasing.

The checkout process was streamlined to help customers place an order and review tracking of an order. Registration was provided for returning customers, but was not mandatory. Even if customers did not create an account, they still could review their order history at any time through a special link in their e-mail. Orders that were placed through the website were easily managed and updates could be made and sent to the customer with regard to order status and shipping notification.
